This is an enormously valuable piece of thought, another challenge to the attempt to hold the world still in a 19th century place. It will take me time to write a proper response but it will come from years of thinking about Westerns as "stand down" literature directly related to WWII and from knowing a lot about Harry Jackson, the sculptor of Wayne as "Rooster Cogburn." Jackson was a friend of ours . Thank you.
