Now that I’ve relieved myself of the obligation to produce a masterpiece, the next step is to remove the necessity of writing 1,000 words a day. A more pressing necessity is saving my eyes. Among other inconveniences, a new phenomenon has appeared, the appearance that what I see is melting or being covered by melting water. That is, swirls appear and run down what I see. This is said to be in the brain rather than the eyes themselves.
It soon goes away and is better but then comes back unexpectedly. Therefore, I’m going to stop writing until Monday.
